Elements of Literature. http://eolit.hrw.com/hlla/newmainlinks/lit.jsp

First of all, it must be noted that the website is more geared towards the American School system. The website categorizes its resources according to the different levels of learners (Grade 6 - 12) and even a World Literature section along with its recommended texts for those levels. What is impressive is that each level has several collections of works and additional resources that are aimed towards teaching a particular idea, skill or concept in that given collection. For example, Grade 10 Literature has 10 collections of works that are divided as such:

Collection 1: Plot and Setting
Collection 2: Character
Collection 3: Narrator and Voice
Collection 4: Comparing Themes
Collection 5: Irony and Ambiguity
Collection 6: Symbolism and Allegory
Collection 7: Poetry
Collection 8: Literary Criticism - Evaluating Style
Collection 9: Literary Criticism - Biographical and Historical Approach
Collection 10: Drama

Each collection has its own set of suggested texts to be used as well as downloadable pdf worksheets that focus on teaching that particular aspect of Literature. I also find it very handy that each collection has a vocabulary development section that highlights words associated with the topic, as well as other little 'workshops' that teach skills such as writing and listening. They even provide links to other materials that can be used to show the relevance of that skill in real-life contexts. Since this is based on an American school model, the use of certain texts and resource materials may have to be tweaked according to our own local syllabus but overall, it's a great site to get ideas for class activities both for Literature and English Language.
