Poetry Archive

http://www.poetryarchive.org/poetryarchive/home.do

This is a pretty comprehensive website about poems. They have resources both for students and teachers, and also provide classroom materials for teachers to use. There is also a good collection of poems and poets. The website can be accessed through the types of poems e.g. allegory. I think this is a good way to gain access to particular kinds of poems that the students need, but this is provided they know what such poems are in the first place.

  2. I also noticed that the site has historic recordings of the poets reading out their poems as well. There are also other recordings of poems done by others. I think this is great as poems should be learnt by reading it out loud and listening to them.

The website also offers various links to other relevant poetry sites if the teacher or student is interested in findinhg out more about a particular aspect of poetry.

Lastly, they also have a library of poetic terms and forms which both teachers and students will find useful if they are seaqrching for a quick definition.
