Teaching Literature Website

Zunal Literature Web Quest for Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

http://www.zunal.com/process.php?w=21041

Three Main Features:

1. The Web Quest is based on a constructivist approach, which encourages team work, along with active participation on the part of students. I appreciate the idea of designating specific roles for the team members, as this would motivate them to do their own research and analysis about Shakespeare’s life and about the text itself.
2. The activities are very engaging, and would be good in captivating the students’ interest. Also, having the students present power-point slides based on their findings is an appropriate form of assessment. Through this method, the teacher will be able to make sure that the students’ content knowledge is sound, hence contributing to their understanding about A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
3. The Web Quest is created to be taught over a course of several weeks, and the website provides very clear step-by-step instructions on what each group member is supposed to do. The website also provides a wide variety of resources that supplement and guide the students in their learning process.
