I love this website for its interesting short stories categorised into those suitable for "Primary", "Younger teens" and "Secondary" students. I'll usually use stories from the "Younger teens" category for a fun time--to get students interested in reading or to spice up a boring class, and more serious stories from the "Secondary" category for a whole literature lesson (perhaps more suitable for lower secondary).
Each story can be downloaded (sometimes with audio records), and comes with supplementary material such as pre-reading introductions, reading guides and after-reading exercises. My favourite "Younger teens" stories include: "Pink Bow Tie", "Ex Poser" and "The Copy". Pre-reading activities and exercises for "The Landlady" are interesting--they focus on characterisation and explore contexts such as murder in Victorian England, witchcraft and taxidermy.
